OWNERS COMMENTS
This is a well-established and run syndicate and the syndicate manager is one of the original owners. This is a well-equipped and comfortable cruising yacht and with bilge keels is well equipped for Welsh waters.
Syndicate membership includes 2 very capable engineers happy to carry out maintenance as required. One member is retired and a second gets to use the boat little (due to business, like myself). This makes the boat available more than a quarter share would normally allow and gives flexibility for extended cruising holidays.
Holyhead is a Main Port and harbour of refuge,
accessible at all states of tide and in any
weather conditions. Holyhead bay itself offers a
large, deep water, area safe for pottering about
and familiarising novice crew. The Anglesey Pilot
lists and illustrates no fewer than 40 anchorages
(or marinas, or harbours) on the North Wales coast
within a day's sail of Holyhead. Many of these are
on Anglesey itself with the option to go North or
South depending on prevailing winds. Further a
field, Liverpool, the Isle of Man and the delights
of the beautiful Lleyn Peninsular in the shadow of
Snowdon are all within a comfortable days sailing
with Dublin around 12hrs and making a suitable
weekend destination. Heading North, Holyhead
offers good access to the renowned sailing grounds
of the West coast of Scotland attainable in little
more than 24hrs. The Bristol Channel and
surrounding coasts are similarly accessible to the
South when more than a weekend cruise is possible.
